If you’re new to designing for the web, or looking to brush up on the proper language for talking about web design, don’t miss this session, based on James Pannafino’s book Interdisciplinary Interaction Design.

You’ll find out how various disciplines—industrial design, cognitive psychology, user interface design and many others—have contributed terms like “affordances,” “Cognitive Load Theory” and “design constraints,” and get introduced to visual metaphors and comparative diagrams to help you understand the interdisciplinary theories at the heart of UX and interactive design.
